Engine by Starling, an SaaS Business from UK’s Starling Bank, to Focus on North American Markets

Engine by Starling, the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business born from UK’s Starling Bank, has established its overseas subsidiary in the United States as a platform from which it will strategiclaly expand operations in the North American market.

Engine by Starling Services US LLC, reportedly registered in Delaware, is now forming a talented team and looking for a regional headquarters on the US East Coast, with North Carolina, Florida, New York and Washington DC identified as potential business locations.

The professional team will reportedly be a blend of local hires, led by a President, and secondees from Engine’s United Kingdom-based staff of product specialists.

The US presents various key opportunities for Engine since it is home to around 4,000 mid-tier banking institutions, community banks and credit unions, many of which are eager to provide new types of all-digital services for their customers.

Drawing on Starling Bank’s experience, cloud-native technology, Engine can enable these organizations to enhance customer experience while boosting their overall operational efficiency and significantly cutting costs.

Since launching back in 2022, Engine has reportedly helped build Salt Bank, Romania’s digital bank, which has captured around 4% of the nation’s banking market since being officially introduced in 2024.

Additionally, AMP in Australia also developed their new digital bank targeting small businesses on Engine’s core banking platform, going live in February of this year.

Both digital banking program were reportedly delivered within 12-month timeframes.
