Vietnam-based artificial intelligence startup AI Hay has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Southeast Asia-focused venture capital firm Argor Capital, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The latest round, which also drew participation from existing investors Square Peg, Northstar Ventures, AppWorks, and Phoenix Holdings, brings AI Hay’s total capital raised to over $18 million.
Founded by veterans of Vietnam’s top consumer tech platforms, AI Hay is an AI-powered knowledge discovery platform that combines generative AI technologies with social networking features.
The firm aims to provide hyperlocal, intelligent, and accessible AI tools for Vietnam’s 100 million citizens.
The company said the fresh funds will be used to expand its web-based offerings, enhance its AI-powered education and entertainment tools, and develop AI companion features for deeper integration into daily digital life.
Launched in May 2024, AI Hay has seen rapid adoption, claiming over 15 million downloads and more than 100 million user-generated queries monthly.
The platform allows users to ask questions and receive context-rich answers powered by large language models, curated local content, and community-driven insights.
AI Hay also fosters engagement through personalized content feeds, themed communities, and interactive social features.
The startup’s momentum received a boost after it was named one of only three Southeast Asian startups selected for Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Global Generative AI Cohort, highlighting its emerging leadership in the region’s consumer AI space.
Piruze Sabuncu, Partner at Square Peg, praised AI Hay’s resilience and vision, noting that the team’s focus on local needs has resulted in a product used daily by millions.
Vietnam has been pushing to become a regional hub for AI innovation.
