Airwallex, a global financial platform for modern businesses, today announced it has received its Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) licence from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) and will soon launch Airwallex Yield to enable European businesses to generate returns on idle funds.

This important authorisation will enable Airwallex to “offer Money Market Funds (MMFs), providing small to medium-sized businesses with direct access to a new way to generate returns on their idle cash.”

Shannon Scott, SVP and Global Head of Product at Airwallex, said:

“Receiving our MiFID licence is the first step to launching Yield in the Netherlands and will get us one step closer to providing European businesses with a smarter way to make their money work harder. Instead of leaving surplus funds idle, companies will soon be able to earn competitive returns.”

The key benefits of Yield include:

  • Integration: Businesses will benefit from a smooth and intuitive investment experience, fully integrated into the Airwallex platform for effortless management of their funds.
  • No lock-up periods: Businesses can transfer funds between their cash balance and Yield account at any time to meet their growth needs.

The flexibility offered by Yield enables businesses to “access their funds whenever needed, providing both competitive returns and the operational agility to respond to opportunities or unexpected expenses.”
