Jumio, the provider of AI-powered identity intelligence anchored in biometric authentication, automation and data-driven insights, announced the launch of selfie.DONE, a solution that delivers on the regulatory technology firm’s vision for reusable identity. selfie.DONE enables trusted users to be recognized right away and reverified with a selfie, eliminating the requirement to rescan their ID for every onboarding or authentication. The solution is first being rolled out in Brazil, followed by a wide international launch.
selfie.DONE has been created to leverage the intelligence and scale of the Jumio Identity Graph, digital technology based on tens of millions of cross-customer, cross-industry identities from “legitimate and fraudulent transactions.”
It reportedly offers a decisive advantage against local or siloed identity systems that tend to depend on a single customer’s data instead of actually leveraging intelligence from an international network such as Jumio’s.
Jumio’s approach aims to ensure that every reuse decision is risk-aware, enabled by a combination of biometric matching, liveness detection, fraud pattern recognition, as well as connection risk analysis.
selfie.DONE determines when a returning user has previously been verified and can then safely skip the “most friction-filled step” of the journey which most often causes drop-off for users: finding and rescanning physical IDs. By skipping this step when trust has been established during a previous session, organizations can boost completion rates, cut down on onboarding time, and lower overall operational costs.
As explained in the announcement from the Regtech firm, the solution advances Jumio’s privacy and security leadership. It operates within Jumio’s centralized, audited security framework – “including ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2, ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and LGPD – ensuring that every identity is governed, encrypted, and reused responsibly.”
selfie.DONE will be introduced initially in Brazil, where users can be verified instantly by simply using a selfie as well as their Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF) number. This approach aims to deliver quicker response times and higher precision, while also maintaining a frictionless user experience.
selfie.DONE reportedly represents Jumio’s multi-step international strategy to bring so-called reusable identity to life – creating an environment where verified clients may be recognized securely, globally, as well as instantly.
