Regtech : Gen II Announces Fenergo Rollout to Enhance Investor AML and KYC Onboarding

Gen II Fund Services, a global private capital fund administrator, today announced the rollout of Fenergo, an onboarding and lifecycle management solution designed to enhance client and investor experiences of AML and KYC processes across the fund lifecycle. The rollout has now started in Europe at the beginning of November, with “all locations expected to go live by the end of 2026.”

Fenergo will deliver a range of benefits to Gen II’s clients and their investors including faster and “more automated onboarding that reduces friction and accelerates fund closings through direct integration with AML and KYC processes, and enhanced risk management aligned with global regulatory standards.”

It will reportedly be interoperable with Funded, Gen II’s subscription document platform,-and Sensr Portal, Gen II’s web portal for investors and fund managers, creating-a frictionless “digital ecosystem that simplifies-fund subscription, compliance and investor data management from initial-engagement through to ongoing fund operations.”

By standardising and automating workflows, the solution drives operational efficiency while also enabling the “reuse of verified KYC data across multiple funds.”

Notably, the information captured at onboarding can be “drawn upon throughout the lifecycle of the relationship, supporting distributions and payouts with greater speed, accuracy, and consistency.”

The implementation of Fenergo is part of Gen II’s technology strategy to introduce solutions that support clients “at every stage of the fund lifecycle.”

By embedding Fenergo into its operating model, Gen II is addressing one of the persistent challenges: the “manual, time-consuming and costly processes associated with AML/KYC during client and investor onboarding.”

Colin Hade, Global Head of Investor Services, said that quite often, onboarding has been a “pain point for both clients and their LPs, with repeated document requests and time lost to manual processes.”

Fenergo “changes that.” By digitising and automating what has historically been cumbersome and error-prone, they can “reduce friction, accelerate fund closings and give clients and their investors a smoother experience.”

As with all Gen II technologies, data security and regulatory compliance underpin the rollout of Fenergo.

Gen II’s servers are hosted in the European Union to ensure GDPR compliance, while its infrastructure meets the “industry standards, including ISO 27001 certification and SOC I and SOC II compliance.”

These safeguards reportedly aim to provide clients with the “assurance that their information and investor data remain fully protected.”
