KuCoin, a global cryptocurrency platform, has recently announced that its crypto payment arm, KuCoin Pay, has officially integrated with Pix. This latest move now aims to enable millions of Brazilian consumers to more easily convert and spend more than 50 different cryptocurrencies at nearly any merchant accepting Pix QR codes, thus “effectively bridging digital assets with everyday utility.”
It capitalizes on Brazil’s crypto adoption—reaching approximately 26 million users, or around 12% of the population—while also addressing the “demand for practical applications in Latin America‘s crypto market.”
The integration streamlines instant crypto-to-BRL conversions, enabling users to transfer funds directly “from their KuCoin accounts to any Brazilian bank or pay merchants via Pix.”
Leveraging Pix’s adoption, it offers wallet management for crypto and fiat within the KuCoin app, underpinned by “regulatory-compliant infrastructure that aligns with Brazil’s KYC standards.”
This enhances user experience by delivering accessible payments for daily needs, fostering financial inclusion and enabling “a digitally native population to utilize crypto with ease, security, efficiency.”
Raymond Ngai, KuCoin Pay Lead said that by integrating with Pix, they are unlocking a “new economic layer for Brazil’s digitally savvy population.”
This embodies their commitment to enhance crypto accessibility, “building on our previously announced on-chain payment solutions as a new step forward in making digital assets practical for everyday life,”
Pix, Brazil’s instant payment system, facilitates 24/7 transfers using identifiers such as QR codes and has amassed more than 175 million users, transforming the payments ecosystem via inclusion, lowered cash dependency, and overall operational efficiency.
For local users, it remains vital in enabling more affordable, inclusive digital transactions across a digital economy.
As noted in the update, KuCoin Pay is a merchant payment solution that allows businesses to integrate crypto transactions for online as well as offline sales.
Supporting more than 50 cryptocurrencies such as KCS, USDT, USDC, and BTC, KuCoin Pay enables borderless payments for its user-base.
