Netcapital, best known for its online capital formation services, has announced that it has acquired the assets of Iverson Design, LLC, a developer of AI-powered design and visualization tools
The deal terms involved Netcapital issuing 80,000 shares of its common stock for the purchase of the assets, including all IP.
Founder Michael Iverson joins Netcapital as Chief Design Director and Head of AI Experience.
Rich Wheeless, CEO of Netcapital, said that tokenizing investments in private firms is a new opportunity, but “only if everyday investors and issuers can quickly grasp the value.”
“This acquisition puts Netcapital in a position to deliver an approachable and visually stunning tokenization experience in the market.”
The Netcapital Funding Portal is registered with the SEC and regulated by FINRA. It provides securities crowdfunding services for private firms in need of growth capital.
While online capital formation has grown since the advent of new rules, the emergence of digital assets and the tokenization of securities is poised to upend the sector, with many investment platforms sizing up the marketplace. Inevitably, both private and public securities will exist and be traded alongside each other, and firms that adapt to the nascent digital asset ecosystem will be better positioned to survive.
