Republic Europe Promotes Later Stage Investments

Investing in private firms entails risk. As many, if not most, startups or early-stage firms go bust, this means there is more risk in an investment. While most securities crowdfunding platforms launched to provide access to capital for early-stage firms, today, a growing number are offering more mature investments, thus reducing risk for investors while providing access to an asset class once out of reach.

Republic Europe recently distributed an email touting its platform for providing access to “global scale-ups” while pointing to its recent listing of the Kraken SPV.

The R Access Series is designed to “bridge the gap” between individual investors and more mature firms that hold less risk than early-stage ventures.

In the case of Kraken, a top crypto exchange, this company is expected to launch an initial public offering at some point in 2026.

Republic explains:

“R Access provides a direct pathway to gain exposure in later-stage companies. No more gatekeepers, no more missed windows, just access to the world’s most sought-after private companies.”

Republic Europe expects to continue offering similar investments structured as single-purpose SPVs (special purpose vehicles). The platform states that it typically purchases shares from existing private investors to aggregate them into a product that offers indirect shareholdings.

As public markets have shrunk, and promising young firms seek to remain private for as long as possible, the listing of later-stage, private firms on investment platforms is good for investors.  All investments hold risk. But portfolio diversification into private securities can be good for investors where gains may be generated prior to a public offering or other exit opportunity.
