AI Firm World Labs Raises $1 Billion at $5 Billion Valuation

Artificial intelligence firm World Labs has raised $1 billion in funding at a valuation of $5 billion.

World Labs is a spatial intelligence AI firm that enables the generation of 3D environments from text or image inputs. Its flagship product, Marble, allows users to create, edit, and share 3D worlds with tools designed to make it easy to create graphical worlds.

According to reports, World Labs has raised $1.23 billion in total, including this most recent funding round.

Investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, AMD, Cisco, and Autodesk, which kicked in $200 million.

The AI firm is described as a “Frontier Company” as it is taking LLMs and turning them into a 3D creation that persists. Users can generate virtual worlds and navigate them while maintaining “spatial memory.”

The tech can also be leveraged to build training environments that can be incorporated in minute,s accelerating platforms like robotics to learn.

The story of the company is one for the movies, as founder Fei-Fei Li is the daughter of Chinese immigrants who arrived in the country with very little.
