Digital bank Revolut has introduced a new AI assistant in order to assist clients with money management related tasks, allowing customers to get timely spending insights, check up on their portfolio investments, effectively manage subscriptions or plan out a trip via a single, all-in-one Fintech app.
Starting to roll out to clients across the United Kingdom from April 9, 2026, AI by Revolut (AIR) aims to move beyond the typical chatbot and enables customers to navigate their financial journey through natural conversation.
Interacting with AIR, clients may receive meaningful spending insights, check up on their digital investments, manage any subscriptions, or freeze a lost / stole payment card.
In addition to everyday banking, AIR assists users with their travel plans, capable of tasks like helping out with trip budgeting and acquiring Revolut eSIMs in-app.
Julia Ponomaverva, director and general manager of CX and AI products at Revolut said that they believe the era of navigating via endless tabs and menus is finally over.
They also mentioned that with AIR, they’re delivering a new level of money intelligence that’s powerful as well as effortless.
It’s not merely an assistant; it’s actually a co-pilot that aims to elevate everyday life, making financial management as simple as sending text messages.
Notably, Revolut is not the only digital banking platform offering more intuitive, AI-enabled features. Other Fintechs such as Nubank, Monzo, bunq, Starling Bank are increasingly integrating AI tools into their banking apps and platforms.
However, one must be careful when using any type of AI assistant because they still make many mistakes. AI hallucinations, when artificial intelligence algorithms get confused and provide incorrect information / insights, are still quite common.
That’s because AI not actively thinking like human beings do. It’s merely analyzing very large data-sets and does it much faster than humans. But, there are still many intangible things that AI cannot comprehend but humans can. That’s why AI is simply a co-pilot and assistant. It’s not meant to fully replace human involvement. In fact, it can enhance / complement our efforts, not full replace us.
