iCapital to Enable AI‑Driven Experience for Alternatives, Structured Investments, Annuities with Anthropic

iCapital, a global fintech provider in private markets and wealth technology, has announced a strategic collaboration with Anthropic. The partnership will incorporate Anthropic’s Claude AI models into iCapital’s comprehensive platform, aiming to significantly elevate user experiences for financial advisors, product issuers, and end clients in the areas of alternative investments, structured investments, and annuities.

The initiative marks the next stage in iCapital’s AI development roadmap. Rather than pursuing AI for its own sake, the company is integrating these tools to deliver tangible improvements in education, operational processes, and data-driven insights throughout the entire investment journey.

This approach builds directly on iCapital’s established infrastructure, which already handles substantial volumes of complex, regulated financial activity.

Lawrence Calcano, Chairman and CEO of iCapital, emphasized the practical orientation of the strategy.

He noted that artificial intelligence’s true potential lies in strengthening results for all platform participants rather than introducing flashy features.

Calcano highlighted Anthropic’s Claude models for their alignment with the high standards of reliability, safety, and institutional suitability required in wealth management.

The overarching goal remains equipping advisors and product providers with superior instruments to better support their clients.

The integration leverages Claude’s strengths in sophisticated reasoning, transparency, and secure operation within heavily regulated settings.

These attributes complement iCapital’s data-intensive environment, enabling the creation of robust, enterprise-ready applications.

Such tools are expected to help users manage intricate scenarios, extract meaningful intelligence, and improve service delivery while upholding iCapital’s commitment to measured and responsible innovation.

Early internal adoption has already demonstrated value. iCapital’s engineering teams incorporated Claude into coding processes, resulting in quicker development cycles and more feature enhancements.

This hands-on success helped validate the broader rollout across client-facing and operational components of the platform.

Henrique Francisco, Chief Technology Officer at iCapital, described the company’s AI framework as deliberately flexible and adaptable.

“We aim to deploy the most suitable technologies for specific needs as the field matures, while maintaining the agility necessary for long-term evolution,” he stated.

Initial deployments will prioritize advisor-centric workflows, tools that empower clients directly, and capabilities that strengthen engagement with product providers.

This move arrives as organizations increasingly experiment with AI.

A McKinsey survey on the state of AI in 2025 found that almost 90 percent of companies have implemented the technology in some capacity, yet fewer than 40 percent have achieved significant enterprise-wide financial benefits.

iCapital’s methodical focus on governed, high-impact applications positions it to capture genuine value rather than simply following trends.

iCapital serves as a leading end-to-end technology provider for non-traditional investments.

Its platforms facilitate discovery, acquisition, management, and portfolio integration of alternatives, structured products, and annuities.

As of late January 2026, the company oversaw more than $1.14 trillion in global assets, encompassing $300.6 billion in alternatives platform assets, $251.4 billion in structured investments and annuities, and $589.4 billion in additional reported client assets.

It supports over 3,300 wealth management organizations and 123,000 financial professionals worldwide.

Headquartered in New York and Greenwich, Connecticut, iCapital maintains a global footprint with 18 offices and a dedicated research and development hub in Lisbon. By embedding AI thoughtfully, iCapital seeks to raise the bar for digital experiences in complex investment categories, ultimately helping advisors and investors navigate opportunities with efficiency.
