Strategy Buys More Bitcoin

Bitcoin proxy firm Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) (NASDAQ:MSTR) has bought more Bitcoin.

Bitcoin recently traded above $80,000 but has since retreated slightly. Currently, Bitcoin is around $77,000 after topping $82,000 in the past month.

Strategy filed an 8-K today indicating that a previously announced share offering had been utilized to purchase approximately $2 billion in Bitcoin, or 24,869 BTC. The purchases were made between May 11 and May 17, 2026, at an average price of $80.985.

In total, Strategy now holds 843,738 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75,700 or $63.87 billion.

Strategy holds a market cap of around $58.4 billion.

Strategy CEO and Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor posted about the purchase on X, noting that they are generating a BTC yield of 12.6% year-to-date.

Saylor has shared his expectations for Bitcoin’s price in the past, with a medium-term prediction of up to $1 million per BTC over the next 4 to 8 years. At one point, he predicted that Bitcoin would be valued at around $150,000 by the end of 2025.
