Nik Storansky, CEO and co-founder of top digital bank Revolut, allegedly skipped out on paying a broker’s fee for a megayacht. This is according to a report by WSJ.com, which states that a yacht broker, Cecil Wright & Partners, is suing Storansky for avoiding a $20 fee on a $400 million yacht.
The broker claims that it was negotiating on behalf of Storansky, who then went directly to the seller.
The same report shares a statement issued by Storansky’s family office that the claim is without merit and will be defended.
The legal action has been filed in London’s High Court regarding the purchase of a 102-meter boat that was previously owned by a Canadian billionaire.
Other reports indicate that Storansky and his representatives will not be commenting further on the claims, as this is deemed to be a private issue and will be dealt with in the courts.
Reports indicate that Storansky is worth around $20 billion. The digital bank Revolut originally raised funds via securities crowdfunding and is now worth around $115 billion. Revolut remains one of the most successful firms to ever have raised money via crowdfunding to emerge as a growing, global digital bank operation providing both traditional and modern financial services like crypto trading. Early investors in Revolut have seen very strong returns on their investment.
