Hospitality Focused Mews Financial Services Approved for EMI License in the Netherlands,

Mews Financial Services B.V. has been approved to operate as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). By receiving approval, Mews will be able to offer multiple bank-like services to its customers. The approval covers the European Economic Area (EEA)

Mews is a hospitality-focused Fintech. The company aims to become the “operating system” for financial services built for hospitality.

Richard Valtr, founder of Mews, said the software running hotels today has never worked as one connected system. A system must include financial management. “This license gives us the foundation to go further, building the financial infrastructure this industry has been missing, so money works around how the hotel runs, not the other way round.”
Regulated infrastructure for a more complex industry

Mews reports $19.7 billion in hotel transaction value in 2025.

Mews says its financial services will roll out its regulated capabilities in a controlled way from late 2026, beginning with a pilot group of properties in the Netherlands before expanding across the EEA.
