Moov, Coinbase Partner on Supporting Community Banks and Stablecoins

Payment stablecoins will soon be ubiquitous. Less crypto and more a modern approach to transferring value, stablecoins can enable faster, lower-cost payments if implemented correctly. Fighting against stablecoins makes little sense.

Yesterday, Moov and Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) announced they’re working together to help community banks enable stablecoin acceptance and transfers. This makes quite a bit of sense.

According to a blog post, Moov is integrating Coinbase’s stablecoin infrastructure into its payments platform, enabling firms to add stablecoin capabilities without building a separate crypto technology stack. Coinbase provides the regulatory-compliant scaffolding, and Moov connects it to firms that understand the future of payments.

Wade Arnold, co-founder and CEO of Moov, says customers are asking about accepting stablecoins, and Moov now offers the solution.

“Merchants need acceptance and disbursement now. What comes next is bigger: funding that doesn’t stop for weekends or holidays, because the rail doesn’t close. Institutions that add this now will be positioned for both.”

The partnership benefits both Moov and Coinbase. Moov is a cloud-based payments processor that supports credit unions and community banks. They also provide card issuance, wallets, merchant onboarding, and more. Moov reportedly serves more than 1,000 U.S. community banks and credit unions. That figure is the one Coinbase and Moov used in the Sept. 10, 2026 announcement and is the most Coinbase has reported as a new customer for its growing range of services.
