HK’s Web3 Meta Revenue Rises 80% As Cultural Digital Platform Expands

Hong Kong-listed Web3 Meta Limited reported an 80% increase in annual revenue as it expanded its digitalization platform and cultural industry business, although higher operating expenses pushed its net loss wider.

Revenue for the year ended June 30, 2026 rose to HK$80.1 million from HK$44.5 million a year earlier, according to the company’s annual results announcement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Gross profit increased to HK$22.6 million from HK$1.3 million, while gross margin improved to 28.1% from 2.9%.

The company reported a net loss of HK$32.5 million, compared with HK$20.3 million a year earlier.

It attributed the larger loss primarily to business expansion, which increased employee numbers and daily operating expenses, resulting in higher selling and administrative costs.

Web3 Meta said its traditional internet advertising business came under pressure from weaker traffic growth and higher traffic acquisition costs.

It shifted its focus during the year toward its digitalization empowerment platform, including applications in intellectual property operations and cultural tourism.

The company’s digitalization empowerment platform generated HK$25.2 million in revenue during the year, down from HK$44.4 million in 2025.

A newly reported digital platform for the cultural industry generated HK$54.9 million, while internet advertising contributed only HK$57,000, compared with HK$57,000 a year earlier.

The cultural industry business focuses on the commercialisation of intellectual property, particularly games and animation.

The company said it has developed an IP digitalization platform covering IP assets, scenario-based operations and commercial monetization, with activities including pop-up events, online-offline exhibitions and performances.

Web3 Meta also plans to expand its digital platform into cultural tourism. It said it is developing a “robot store + customized cultural and creative products” model using smart terminals to enable unmanned operations around the clock.

The terminals integrate anti-counterfeit identification, mobile payment and inventory management functions and can collect sales data for analysis of consumer preferences.

The company’s workforce expanded to 101 employees at June 30 from 12 a year earlier, while staff costs increased to HK$18.1 million from HK$1.6 million.

Web3 Meta had HK$14 million in cash and bank balances at June 30, compared with HK$8.1 million a year earlier. Its outstanding borrowings rose to HK$15.1 million from HK$7.4 million, while its debt-to-equity ratio increased to 48.8% from 16.2%.

The company said it will continue developing its digitalization platform and expanding its presence in intellectual property and cultural tourism, with a focus on digital IP commercialization and offline immersive experiences.
