Global asset manager Janus Henderson and real-world asset tokenization firm Centrifuge announced the launch of JQQQ, the first blockchain-native fund designed to deliver exposure to the Nasdaq-100 Index through an issuer-sponsored strategy.
Rather than wrapping an existing security, the product was built from the ground up for issuance and ongoing operation on public blockchain rails, pairing traditional institutional investment standards with digital distribution channels and onchain composability.
Janus Henderson, which oversees roughly half a trillion dollars in assets, will manage the fund, while Centrifuge supplies the full technology stack for onchain fund operations. JQQQ aims to track the Nasdaq-100 Index under a formal license from Nasdaq.
The product is initially available exclusively on the Stellar network, which has seen real-world assets on the chain exceed $4 billion during 2026 and has cultivated a growing institutional market that includes tokenized Treasuries, sovereign debt, money-market instruments, and credit products.
The fund is structured as a segregated portfolio of Anemoy Capital SPC Limited, a British Virgin Islands company.
Anemoy Asset Management Limited serves as investment manager, with Janus Henderson Investors US LLC acting as sub-investment manager.
Access is restricted to eligible investors in jurisdictions where the offering can legally be marketed; it is not available to U.S. persons.
The official announcement highlighted competitive fees without specifying a rate.
Separately, reporting indicated a minimum investment of $100,000 for eligible non-U.S. professional investors.
Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson’s head of innovation, described the partnership with Nasdaq Global Indexes and Centrifuge as a way to combine the firm’s investment expertise with modern digital infrastructure.
He noted that the launch expands Janus Henderson’s onchain platform—now encompassing more than $1 billion across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit, and public equities—and aligns with the firm’s goal of becoming the most technologically advanced asset manager.
Nasdaq’s Sean Wasserman, head of index product management, pointed to rising investor interest in established benchmarks accessed through emerging digital channels and expressed support for the continued evolution of index-based products.
Centrifuge’s Anil Sood, chief strategy and growth officer, emphasized that tokenization gains power when familiar assets can serve as building blocks within an onchain financial system.
Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon framed the launch as evidence that tokenization has progressed from cash-like instruments to major equity benchmarks, noting that the network was designed for regulated finance.
This approach differs from simply digitizing existing securities.
Native onchain issuance can enable programmable portfolios, direct integration with digital financial applications, and potential use of fund shares as collateral in onchain markets—though any such collateral or lending features would be provided by independent third parties outside Janus Henderson’s management of the fund.
The product follows an earlier collaboration between the same partners on a tokenized S&P 500-linked fund.
The launch reflects broader institutional movement toward bringing equity-index exposure onto public blockchains while maintaining licensed, issuer-controlled structures. Investors receive economic exposure to the Nasdaq-100 rather than direct ownership of the index or its constituent companies, and the product carries risks associated with both the underlying strategy and blockchain infrastructure.
