ATMIA Appoints David Tente as President of ATM Security Association

ATMIA has announced the appointment of David Tente as the next President of the ATM Security Association (ASA) from July 1, 2022.

He succeeds outgoing President, Mike Lee, “who is retiring as CEO of ATMIA, which runs ASA, at the end of June.”

Tente will “continue as Executive Director, USA, Canada & Americas, while assuming the new role.”

It will involve “running the four committees and working groups of the ASA, along with its rapidly expanding Crisis and Crime Management Intelligence System (CCMIS) and other resources belonging to the ASA portal.”

The CCMIS “contains over 12,000 global ATM crime and fraud incidents.”

Lee stated:

“I am delighted with this appointment as I know David has the knowledge and skills required to take ASA to the next level.”

Tente stated:

“ATM crime has increased significantly over the past year – across the globe. The ASA provides our industry with the resources and tools it needs, including the first ever ATM crime database, to stay a step ahead of the criminals. I look forward to leading this effort and building on the work of our founding President, Mike Lee.”

As noted in the announcement, ATMIA claims to be “the leading non-profit trade association representing the entire global ATM industry.”

ATMIA reportedly “serves more than 11,000 members from over 650 participating companies in 70 countries spanning the whole ATM ecosphere, including financial institutions, independent ATM deployers, equipment manufacturers, processors and a plethora of ATM service and value-added solution providers.”

ATMIA is focused on “providing education, advocacy and connections to help its members keep abreast of industry news and developments; increase knowledge and professionalism; improve operational efficiencies; understand and influence regulatory processes; participate in the local, regional and global ATM community; and forge new relationships to advance their businesses.”

Founded in 1997, ATMIA has “active chapters” in the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and other world regions – which focus “on the unique needs and issues of each region.”
