Germany’s Marketplace Lender auxmoney Invests in Lender & Spender, Acquires Majority Stake

After the start of a successful collaboration in 2022, the Germany-based auxmoney invests in the Dutch credit platform Lender & Spender. With this investment, Lender & Spender is part of the European “success story” of auxmoney.

Robert Leclercq, CEO and co-founder of Lender & Spender,  said:

“We are very much looking forward to the next phase of our partnership. Since the start of the partnership with auxmoney, we have been able to achieve strong growth in the past 12 months. We see many opportunities in the Dutch market for further growth through the combination of the use of smart technology, customer-oriented processes and competitive financing. ”

Lender & Spender was “founded in 2015 and is a leading online lender.”

The company reportedly “has 32 employees and provides around 200 million euros per year in consumer loans.”

Boudewijn Dierick, Managing Director at auxmoney Investments, said:

“We are proud to welcome Lender & Spender to the auxmoney group. Thanks to the expertise and passion of our team, Lender & Spender has experienced very successful growth over the past year. As a senior partner, we look forward to working together on further expansion plans.”

auxmoney and Lender & Spender already “entered into a partnership in June 2022, with auxmoney starting to invest in the company.”

Since the launch of the partnership, the volume of new loans “provided by Lender & Spender has more than quintupled.”

Robert Leclercq added:

“Both companies started as crowdfunding platforms and use technology and data to put the best products on the market. By joining forces we can innovate faster and we have all the ingredients on board to continue our growth.”

Lender & Spender will remain “based in Amsterdam and will continue to operate under its own name in the Dutch market.”

As noted in the update, auxmoney claims it is “a leading online consumer loan platform in Europe.”

auxmoney improves access “to affordable credit through unique risk models and digital processes.” It also reduces “the risk factors and costs of loans. Customers benefit from better rates and a transparent process.”

Institutional investors benefit “from the predictable returns achieved in the auxmoney marketplace. auxmoney is at the forefront of promoting and improving financial inclusion.”

As mentioned in the announcement, Lender & Spender is “an innovative consumer loan provider.”

The company was founded in 2015 “by Robert Leclercq and Huub van der Wart and is supervised by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets.”

Lender & Spender uses technology “to offer consumers loans with a lower interest rate in a customer-oriented and transparent manner.”
