Crowdfund Insider Announces New Legal Column, Crowdfunding Counselor

Samuel S. GuzikWith the debate on regulations swirling around the JOBS Act legislation and at the many intricacies of securities law, Crowdfund Insider is very pleased to announce a regular column, The Crowfunding Counselor, by noted Securities Attorney Samuel S. Guzik.

Guzik, a graduate of Cornell University with a law degree from Stanford University Law School, brings over 35 years of securities law experience to the crowdfunding space. Guzik began his career at the international law firm of Willkie Farr and Gallagher and later moved to Los Angeles where he was a partner in the law firm of Ervin, Cohen & Jessup. Following his departure from Ervin, Cohen & Jessup, Guzik went on to become General Counsel of a high tech company listed on NASDAQ. In 1993 he formed his own firm, Guzik & Associates, which provides legal representation in business, corporate and securities law. Guzik has served as a director of both publicly traded and privately held companies providing counsel in the areas of finance and business development. His vast experience includes both domestic and international public offerings and private placements of debt and equity.

A believer in the intentions and importance of both the JOBS Act and crowdfunding, Guzik’s articles and commentary in the SEC rulemaking process, recently struck a deep note of interest from crowdfunding industry insiders, with including candid and insightful articles published on Crowdfund Insider.

Guzik shared his thoughts on the evolving innovation and the impact on capital formation for small companies,

“This is a unique and revolutionary opportunity to aid and facilitate capital allocation for small companies and startups.” Guzik said. “With Title III regulations still forthcoming and Title II regulations still in evolving, now is the time for industry participants to completely understand the importance and relevance of the regulatory environment. I hope to be able to provide insight and perspective for this incredible opportunity for businesses and the power of crowdfunding.”

Guzik joins a list of regular contributors which include Sang Lee, CEO of crowdfunding platform ReturnOnChange, and Ludwine Dekker, Marketing & Campaign Manager for Dutch equity platform Symbid.
