Anthropic to Cater to Financial Services Firms, Automates Analysis, Pitchbooks, More

Anthropic has announced dedicated AI agents for the financial services sector. The company stated that it can now automate time-consuming tasks such as building pitchbooks, writing credit memos, screening KYC files, and closing the books at month-end. These services are being sold as individual plugins as Claude Managed Agents, so teams can accomplish tasks within days rather than months.

Anthropic also shared that Claude can now be integrated into Microsoft’s suite of products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

Anthropic can now streamline work at investment banks, which are typically staffed by teams of young associates who work long hours to accomplish Herculean projects related to mergers, acquisitions, or public offerings. Potentially, high-paying investment banking jobs could be reduced at investment banks, while customers could experience a reduction in cost for these largely manual jobs. Investment banking is a sector of finance that is in dire need of disruption, and Anthropic is now pushing this forward.

The complete list of agents offered by Anthropic is as follows:

Research and client coverage

  • Pitch builder creates target lists, runs comparables, and drafts pitchbooks for client meetings;
  • Meeting preparer assembles client and counterparty briefs ahead of calls;
  • Earnings reviewer reads transcripts and filings, updates models, and flags thesis-relevant changes;
  • Model builder creates and maintains financial models from filings, data feeds, and analyst inputs.

Credit, risk, and compliance

  • Market researcher tracks sector and issuer developments, synthesizes news, filings, and broker research, and flags items for credit and risk review;
  • KYC screener assembles entity files, reviews source documents, and packages escalations for compliance review.

Finance and operations

  • Valuation reviewer checks valuations against comparables, methodology, and the firm’s review standards.
  • General ledger reconciler reconciles general ledger accounts and runs net asset value calculations against the books of record;
  • The month-end closer runs the close checklist, prepares journal entries, and produces close reports.
  • A statement auditor reviews financial statements for consistency, completeness, and audit-readiness.

Connections to outside services are also part of the package, like Dun & Bradstreet, LSEG, Moody’s, or Guidepoint. Expect this list to grow.

All of this is now available on the “financial services marketplace” on GitHub.
