NVIDIA’s Venture Arm Reportedly Takes Position in Digital Bank Revolut

NVIDIA’s (NASDAQ:NVDA) venture capital division has secured a stake in Revolut, the London-based digital bank that continues to disrupt traditional finance. This move, part of a broader secondary share sale, has propelled Revolut’s valuation to $75 billion, up from $45 billion just over a year earlier and reinforcing its position as Europe’s leading private technology company.

The transaction primarily facilitated liquidity for existing shareholders and employees rather than injecting fresh capital into the company.

Employees had the opportunity to sell portions of their holdings—up to around 20% in some cases—marking the fifth such liquidity event for staff.

Leading the round were institutional investors including Coatue, Greenoaks, Dragoneer, and Fidelity Management & Research Company. Additional participants featured Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Franklin Templeton, and T. Rowe Price Associates, alongside NVIDIA’s NVentures.

This investment aligns with NVIDIA’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in the United Kingdom’s AI ecosystem.

Earlier in 2025, the chipmaker pledged significant funding toward AI innovation in the region, with Revolut identified as a beneficiary.

The partnership builds on an existing collaboration where Revolut leverages NVIDIA’s technology for its AI infrastructure, powering tools such as intelligent chat assistants and advanced scam detection systems.

By deepening their ties, both companies aim to accelerate Revolut’s use of AI in areas such as fraud prevention, personalized services, and automated financial advice.

Revolut’s rapid ascent is underpinned by impressive financial performance.

For 2024, the company reported revenue of $4 billion, representing a 72% year-over-year increase, while pre-tax profits surged 149% to $1.4 billion.

Momentum has carried into 2025, with the global retail customer base surpassing 65 million and the business segment generating $1 billion in annualized revenue.

The fintech has also expanded its geographic reach, securing banking licenses in markets such as Mexico and Colombia while preparing to enter India and other regions.

Co-founder and CEO Nik Storonsky highlighted the milestone as validation of the company’s progress toward becoming a truly global bank serving customers across dozens of countries.

Chief Financial Officer Victor Stinga emphasized that strong investor demand reflects the robustness of Revolut’s model, which balances explosive growth with sustained profitability.

The elevated valuation now exceeds the market capitalizations of several major traditional UK banks, underscoring the shifting dynamics in financial services.

For NVIDIA, the stake represents a strategic bet on AI’s growing role in fintech.

As Revolut continues to innovate in areas reliant on high-performance computing and machine learning, the alliance could yield mutual benefits in product development and market expansion.

Industry observers view this as part of a broader trend in which semiconductor giants invest directly in end-user applications to drive demand for their core technologies.

The deal not only provides liquidity to Revolut’s team but also positions the company for its next phase of international growth and technological advancement, with AI playing a central role.  While exact investment amounts from individual participants remain undisclosed, the participation of such high-caliber backers signals robust confidence in Revolut’s trajectory.
