Stockholm based Financial Data Startup Quartr Announces New Funding

Quartr, a Stockholm-based provider of specialized financial data and research tools, has closed an $18 million funding round. Longtime backer Altos Ventures led the investment, with additional participation from new investor SEB.

As a result of this round, Altos has become the company’s largest shareholder, underscoring strong confidence in Quartr’s trajectory and product suite.

The capital will primarily support accelerated product development and the further expansion of the firm’s data coverage.

Quartr operates in a large and rapidly evolving sector focused on investor relations materials from publicly listed companies, an area increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence applications.

Company leaders describe the new funds as a means to maintain and strengthen their position amid this industry shift, rather than a move into entirely new business lines.

Quartr positions itself as a foundational data layer for institutional finance and AI systems.

It specializes in structured, real-time information drawn directly from public companies, including live events, earnings calls, transcripts, filings, and presentations.

It delivers this first-party data through two main channels.

Quartr Pro serves as an AI-enhanced research platform used by hedge funds, asset managers, equity analysts, and investor relations teams.

Users can query across extensive company materials, with responses linked back to original sources for verification.

Meanwhile, the Quartr API provides a technical backbone that enables developers and platforms to integrate the same structured data into their own tools and AI systems.

The company reports sustained triple-digit growth rates alongside solid unit economics.

Net revenue retention stands at approximately 120 percent, indicating strong customer expansion within existing accounts.

Its client roster includes major global hedge funds, asset managers, and technology firms, with more than 800 institutions and companies relying on its data for research or product development.

Coverage currently spans thousands of public companies across dozens of markets. Founded in 2020, Quartr has built its presence by focusing on reliable access to primary company communications.

The latest funding builds on previous investments, including earlier support from Altos Ventures.

Leadership has emphasized the goal of creating a comprehensive knowledge base that both human professionals and AI systems can trust for accurate company insights, without relying on secondary or customer-derived training data.

This round comes as demand for high-quality, structured financial information continues to rise, driven in part by advances in large language models and automated research tools.

By channeling resources into faster innovation and broader geographic and company coverage, Quartr aims to solidify its role as a preferred source of primary investor relations data.

The participation of both a seasoned Silicon Valley venture firm and a major European bank highlights the cross-border appeal of the business model and its potential for continued scaling.

The $18 million infusion provides Quartr with additional runway to refine its offerings and meet growing needs in the institutional finance and AI sectors. Observers of the fintech landscape will watch closely how the company deploys these resources to expand its reach and capabilities in the months ahead.
