A New Era of Trading: Robinhood Rolls Out Agentic Trading for Users

The previously announced artificial intelligence service is now being rolled out to eligible users on the Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD) platform. Robinhood shared in a post on X that “Agentic Trading for crypto is rolling out now to eligible users. Connect your agent through the Robinhood MCP server to trade crypto alongside equities and options from a dedicated Agentic Account—using only the funds you deposit.”

Account holders can now leverage AI agents to execute trades 24/7. Robinhood previously launched Agentic trading for equities and options.

Robinhood is not alone in offering these services; other platforms like Webull, Public.com, and eToro, among others, offer related services. Coinbase announced in June “Coinbase for Agents.”

The list also omits more traditional brokerages like E*TRADE (Morgan Stanley) and Schwab. Once disruptors, now the establishment, older brokerages have consistently fallen behind on innovation. Fear of risk and regulatory questions have slowed the pursuit of new services, even as consumer demand grows.

There are several empirical examples of Agentic Trading beating the markets.

A study posted in January 2026 entitled Autonomous Market Intelligence: Agentic AI Nowcasting Predicts Stock Returns Thanks (draft) covers an AI trading project that generated an approximate annual return of 46%.

Another study, Beyond Prompting: Autonomous Factor Investing via Agentic AI, demonstrated an annualized return near 54%.

Other results have been less spectacular.

Too good to be true? Probably.

Over time, as agentic trading becomes prevalent, returns should normalize. Competition and ubiquity should drive gains lower. Someone has to lose.
