Eskimo, a provider of travel connectivity solutions, has launched support for stablecoin transactions on its platform by teaming up with payment specialist Triple-A.
This development allows customers to complete purchases of global eSIM data plans using stablecoins directly at checkout, expanding the range of payment options available to digitally oriented travelers.eSIMs have transformed how people stay online while abroad.
Instead of relying on physical SIM cards or expensive roaming services, users can download a digital profile that activates mobile data almost instantly upon arrival.
Eskimo specializes in reusable, data-only eSIMs that work across 175 countries and serve more than one million travelers worldwide.
Its offerings include both unlimited data packages and fixed-volume plans.
The fixed options stand out because any unused data does not expire, enabling customers to roll remaining balances into future trips.
Access comes through premium carrier networks, eliminating the need to swap cards or absorb high roaming fees.
By integrating Triple-A’s regulated payment infrastructure, Eskimo can present stablecoins as a seamless checkout choice without building or maintaining the underlying systems itself. Triple-A manages conversion of the digital assets, secure custody, and all compliance obligations.
This arrangement lets the eSIM company respond quickly to evolving consumer preferences while keeping the purchase process straightforward and free of added operational complexity.
Dennis Lee, Eskimo’s chief executive, highlighted the growing expectations of modern travelers.
He noted that people now seek flexibility and simplicity not only in how they connect overseas but also in how they pay for those services.
The collaboration with Triple-A, he explained, delivers an additional convenient payment route while preserving a clean, user-friendly experience at the point of sale.
Eric Barbier, founder and chief executive of Triple-A, drew a parallel between the rapid rise of eSIM technology and shifting payment habits.
He observed that embedded SIMs have reset travelers’ standards for speed and ease of connectivity.
The same digitally native audience, he added, increasingly prefers frictionless methods such as stablecoins when settling transactions. The partnership extends Triple-A’s growing footprint in the travel sector.
The payments firm recently enabled similar stablecoin options for Wego, a major online travel marketplace focused on the MENA region.
Together these moves illustrate how travel-related digital services are testing alternative settlement rails that can reduce friction for cross-border customers.
Stablecoins, digital tokens designed to maintain a steady value by referencing traditional currencies, have gained traction in online commerce and international payments precisely because they avoid the price swings common to other cryptocurrencies.
For merchants, working with a licensed specialist removes barriers around regulation, security, and settlement, allowing them to focus on their core offerings.
For Eskimo, the new option represents a practical enhancement that aligns its payment methods with the expectations of a tech-savvy customer base. As eSIM adoption continues to expand and travelers demand more flexible ways to pay, the collaboration positions both companies to meet those needs.
