The intrastate crowdfunding exemptions just keep coming. The latest state said to be considering an intrastate bill is Texas. Crowdfunding is part of Texas House Speaker Joe Strauss’s legislative agenda for this coming year. Various state news outlets report that just such a measure will be debated within the state legislature soon.
Strauss reportedly called on the House Committee on Investments and Financial Services to “analyze the costs and benefits of implementing an intrastate equity crowd-funding system in Texas.” Texas would be looking to join a handful of states to consider similar measures including but not limited to Washington, Michigan and Wisconsin.
