Hong Kong has selected blockchain firm Solana (Nasdaq: HSDT) to establish or expand operations in the region.
Solana is the only blockchain infrastructure company selected by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) in 2026, joining enterprises such as Pfizer, GSK, Roche, Dassault Systèmes, DiDi and MiniMax.
Solana states that it will establish its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, retaining a degree of autonomy.
OASES says the latest selection highlights the momentum of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem. Half of the 18 new firms are from the Chinese Mainland, while the other half are from elsewhere in the world. In total, the number of OASES enterprises has reached 142.
OASES Director-General Peter Yan said the projects span sectors such as fintech, clinical research, precious metals services, and advanced manufacturing, including robotics.
Solana is a high-performance blockchain ecosystem that claims transactions in milliseconds and up to 50,000 to 65,000 transactions per second (TPS). Solana is designed to support enterprise-level transactions, including financial services.
