BiiSafe, the Finland-based startup behind the wearable tracker Buddy, has successfully secured nearly €325,000 as its equity crowdfunding campaign nears its final week on Invesdor. The company originally sought to raise €220,000 (max €500,000) to accelerate international growth.
As previously reported, BiiSafe develops, markets, manufactures, and sells software, accessories and service platforms for security and wellness purposes. The company is on a mission to offer advanced and easy-to-use products to both customers and organizations. The company stated that over 50,000 units of Buddy have been sold and delivered to nearly 30 countries throughout the world, and it is used to locate items, to share location, to follow pet movements, and improve corporate security. It also tracks the usual wellness metrics (i.e. steps). The company revealed:
“BiiSafe’s product and service concept is comprised by the physical hardware and its App and cloud software. The company offers its customers an enjoyable customer experience by combining hardware, mobile application and a cloud service into a seamless entity. The Focal point for the company is the BiiSafe Portal, which has been developed especially to meet the needs of its B2B customers. The BiiSafe Portal will also facilitate management of HR issues that are linked to safety and wellness.”
BiiSafe is currently preparing to launch its next generation of Buddy trackers, which will reportedly connect to the cloud through low-power WiFi, ZIGBEE hub or Bluetooth 4.2. The company previously raised $43,012 through Indiegogo back in 2014 for the trackers. Invesdor CEO Lasse Mäkelä recently stated:
“BiiSafe is doing big things with a great product in an interesting industry, and they have crowdfunding experience to boot. We are happy to be able to help BiiSafe in its growth.”
BiiSafe’s campaign is set to close on October 8th.
