For London: Crowdfunding to Support Victims of Terrorist Attack

In less than a day, global citizens have rallied in support of those who lost loved ones in yesterday’s terrorist attack in London. According to the BBC, 4 people were killed and about 50 people were wounded in the heart of London.

At this writing, at least three crowdfunding campaigns have been set up to financially help the families of victims and those injured during the attacks.   The Metropolitan Police Federation has set up a fund for the family of PC Keith Palmer and raised over £481,559 from over 23,337 supporters on JustGiving. PC Palmer was killed while guarding the Palace of Westminster. Muslims United for London has raised over £20,786 from over 890 supporters for London attack victims and their families on LaunchGood.

Kurt Cochran, an American traveling in Europe, was killed, while his wife Melissa was injured. The couple, who owned a recording studio in Utah, was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Europe and visiting Melissa’s parents, Mormon missionaries serving in London. A GoFundMe campaign set up by Melissa’s brother-in-law, Clint Payne, has raised over $51,598 from over 1,300 people to help defray the costs of Melissa’s monthly care expenses and cover her loss of income.
