Tampa-based crowdfunding startup Citizinvestor funded its first project last week and blind students in Boston now have the technology they need in school.
Citizinvestor started late this summer on a mission to add an element to the crowdfunding landscape that was not being widely targeted — municipal projects.
It took 55 days for the company to raise $6,480 to help the nonprofit Tech Goes Home. The 47 “Citizinvestors,” as the company likes to call them, were able to fund 10 iPads, 10 Bluetooth keyboards and three people to train the students how to use the technology.
