Documentary Crowdfunding on Kickstarter Features Crowdfunding Revolution

Kickstarted the filmJust launched on Kickstarter is a crowdfunding project for a documentary film entitled “Kickstarted“.   In a poetic fashion the film is chronicling the meteoric rise of crowdfunding and the revolutionary change this innovation is bringing to entrepreneurs everywhere.  Organized by filmakers Jason Cooper and Jay Armitage, they,

“are making this film because we deeply believe that crowdfunding is changing the world and we want to help spread the word. Our goal is to present a truthful, exciting and inspiring look at what it means to be creative, independent and funded by the crowd”.

The crowdfunding campaign has a goal of raising $85,000 and with over $10,000 already raised the organizers are well on their way to a successful campaign.

At its core, Kickstarted is about much more than the rise of Amanda Palmer Kickstartedcrowdfunding: It’s about the future of creativity and entrepreneurship. It’s also about the passionate, driven and dedicated creative visionaries who have put everything on the line – their futures, reputations, social equity, even their souls – hoping that the “crowd” will believe in them and their ideas.

The film has actually been in production for over a year and the funds raised will go to completing .  Many of the big names associated with crowdfunding are interviewed for the documentary including recent flash hits such as Zach Braff and Amanda Palmer.  A cool inclusion in the film is the sound track will be populated by songs from musicians who have crowdfunded their music.

Kickstarted the film is expected to be ready for the 2014 Festival season.  The crowdfunding campaign ends on June 27th.
