Crowdfunding on Kickstarter, “Citizen Koch”. a film directed by Carl Deal and Tia Lessin, has surpassed their crowdfunding goal of $75,000 with plenty of time left on their crowdfunding campaign.
The project currently stands at over $105,000 pledged by over 2000 supporters.
“Citizen Koch” is a film about the  political influence of billionaire industrialists and conservative activists David and Charles Koch.  Originally the project was to receive $150,000 in funding from public television but the funding was suspiciously dropped.  The justification was linked to the possibility that the film may displease a certain PBS donor – none other than David Koch.
Apparently David Koch is a donor to PBS flagship stations WNET and WGBH and on their board of trustees.
The crowdfunding project received some high profile support by noted liberal activist and filmmaker Michael Moore. Â He congratulated the success on twitter;
Hey–we did it! $75K in less than 3 days to save “Citizen Koch”!! Here’s my $5K–now it’s $80K! Let’s keep this going: http://t.co/RNwrmZ5fL9
