Kickstarter announced today their entry into Canada was off to a booming start. Already 125 projects have launched (This past Monday the official launch date they had several dozen) and they have 3,196 in the queue prepping to launch. Not too bad, eh?
From Medicine Hat to Barrrie, from Vancouver to Gabarus – Kickstarter has caught a solid wave of crowdfunding excitement as their platform had a very diverse offering from up North. While some of the campaigns predated their “official” launch is was a solid indicator the growing wave of interest in crowdfunding was expanding. Some of these early offerings had already surpassed their crowdfunding objectives – like a Shoe Company in Vancouver.
Kickstarter is also expected to launch officially in Australia and New Zealand in the forthcoming weeks as their global expansion continues.
