With a little over 24 hours until the closing of its crowdfunding campaing on Kickstarter, PLX Devices’ Legion Meter has raised $409,852 from 8,072 backers. The campaign launched last month with a goal of only $10,000 and quickly gained popularity on the crowdfunding giant’s platform due to its exciting concept.
According to its campaign website, the Legion Meter is a USB multimeter with integrated 128×32 OLED display designed to accelerate smartphone and/or tablet’s charge speed up to 92% faster. PLX Devices stated that Legion Meter also features a built-in multimeter for displaying voltage, and current power. Legion Meter installs in seconds and is fully plug and play
Legion Meter’s also supports Apple and Android modes and the company stated,”The user selectable mode dynamically converts any USB port to optimize the charge speed by signaling your mobile device to safely draw the maximum amount of charge possible. The PLX Charge Accelerator circuit is patent pending. Legion Meter’s intelligent algorithms learn how you’re using your devices and calculates your energy usage at roughly 500 times/second giving you ultra accurate power metering.
Legion Meter’s high contrast OLED display shows you precisely your USB port’s voltage, current, power and also includes a precise mAh capacity meter counter for you to diagnose the batteries of all of your portable electric devices.
Noting its dedication for the project, PLX Devices revealed, “For more than 10 years, PLX Devices has designed and developed award winning products in the automotive, and consumer electronics. Backers were able to purchase Legion Meter via Kickstarter at an Early Bird price of $39. After those sold out, the price jumped to $49. The chargers will be shipped by October 2014.
