Global investment crowdfunding platform OurCrowd has received a nice recognition with the mentioning of two of their portfolio companies in Globes “Most Promising Israeli Startup of 2014″ list. OurCrowd has taken an international approach to their listed companies but they are based in Jerusalem with many of their companies operating in Israel. OurCrowd is a consistent voice on the innovative and dynamic entrepreneurial scene in Israel – a country that is frequently referenced as the “Startup Nation”.
Fifth on the list is Consumer Physics, a company we have written about in the past as they have taken a hybrid approach for capital formation by crowdfunding equity and with a rewards based campaign successfully closed on Kickstarter this past summer. Their product SCiO is “the world’s first affordable molecular sensor”. Basically a handheld spectrometer that instantaneously generates relevant information on the chemical make up of anything you point scan with the device. Now, if you want to, you can really no what you are eating.
enVerid Systems is number 8 on the list. This company is determined to “revolutionize” HVAC for buildings of all types by dramatically reducing cost and keeping a pristine air quality in the structure. This young company has also just received another nice accolade being named one of the “2014 Global Cleantech 100’s Ones to Watch”. Almost 6000 companies, from 60 countries, submitted to be considered a promising company in Cleantech this year.
