Draper, Utah-based FŪZ Designs announced on Wednesday (November 12th) that it has been named a 2015 CES Best of Innovation Awards recipient for its product, Noke, which has been considered the world’s first bluetooth padlock. The award was revealed at Tuesday (November 11th) during the CES Unveiled event in New York City. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.

Noke 4Noke was launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter this past August and raised over $650,000. Designed to simplify lives by eliminating the need of a physical key, Noke uses bluetooth smart technology, allowing users to unlock Noke with their smartphone. Access to Noke can be shared effortlessly and instantly for single, multiple and unlimited used.

Co-founder of Noke, David Gengler stated,”We are thrilled to be honored by the CEA. I’m proud of our team at FŪZ Designs who now have earned a total of 7 CES Design and Engineering awards. The fact that Noke was a category winner says a lot about the work our team has put into this product that is already starting to revolutionize the padlock industry.”

Noke received two awards, which were the Best of Innovations in the Wireless Handset Accessory category and Innovation Award Honoree in the Software and Mobile Apps category. The Best of Innovations award is given to the one product that received the top score in its category. FŪZ Designs’ Felt Case was also an Innovation Award Honoree in the Wireless Handset Accessory category, giving FŪZ Designs three awards in total.

The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

Noke will be displayed at the 2015 International CES, which runs January 6-9, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Entries are evaluated on the startup’s engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present.

Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
