Dipstix Nears £300K Seedrs Goal: Virtual Garage Compares Car Repair Quotes and Books Appts

The Liverpool-based startup Dipstix enables motorists to compare quotes, link with the most highly rated mechanics and dipstix 2book car appointments online, saving both time and money. Vrooming to £296,590 in funding, Dipstix hopes to raise £300,000 on its Seedrs crowdfunding campaign for the 15.50% equity offered for its startups valued at £1,635,900.

Team Dipstix includes Founder and MD David Cederholm, Director Daniel McPherson and Finance Director Christopher Clark.  Investors include Just Eat CEO David Buttress and New Look Founder Tom Singh.

dipstixLaunched in December 2013 with the primary aim to become the ‘go to’ place for motorists looking to compare quotes for maintaining their vehicle, Dipstix’ product currently focuses on three core areas: Booking MOTs, Servicing, and Repair. The marketplace business gleans funds from its member garages’ subscription fee and commission. “By entering the car’s registration number and a few details about the maintenance required, a customer can find quotes for the work, book it and pay,” states the campaign.  Dipstix currently has over 1,000 UK garages subscribed onto its platform; current bookings are 150 per month, currently increasing 50% per month; and Trustpilot has been brought on board to help increase marketshare.  Funding round will improve tech including an app, build the team and marketing product launches.  Further campaign details are available to Seedrs investors.
