DreamQii’s PlexiDrone Scores Over $620,000 During the Final Hours on Indiegogo

With less than 36 hours until its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo comes to an end, Toronto-based startup, DreamQii and its new drone, PlexiDrone, continues to remain in the spotlight, raising $621,030 from 1,912 backers.

The PlexiDrone is a small, sophisticated, easy-to-use and is operated by a smartphone or tablet. It allows users to capture breathtaking aerial photography with unprecedented ease. Its design include:

Creators of the drone also noted that its propellers have been designed to maximize performance and make it incredibly easy to change a propeller. No tools required, just spin your propeller on and be ready to fly in seconds.

The drone also makes flying and filming easier than ever before. Its team shared, “Just point to where you want to fly and begin capturing amazing aerial film.  We’ve removed the need for a bulky and complicated remote controller and simplified the controls so that anyone can film from the sky!”

Key features of the PlexiDrone include:

  • GPS Follow Me: Using this app, the PlexiDrone automatically keeps focused on a fixed point of interest, of even follows a moving object.
  • 360 Degree Unobstructed View: You’ll never have to crop your shots in posts. No junk in the shot-just a clear and beautiful aerial film.
  • SwarmTech: Fly your own swarm of PlexiDrones and capture a scene from multiple vantage points.
  • Obstacle Avoidance: Ultrasonic sensing lets PlexiDrone detect obstacles in its path. This added safety features lets you decide if PlexiDrone should stop completely or find another path when confronted by an obstacle.

Shoppers can look for the PlexiDrone in stores and online next spring. Combined sales through crowd-funding and retail agreements exceed $1M USD.
