Braveheart Investment Group has announced the first four investments in the Crowdcube Venture Fund. The fund was announced by Crowdcube at the beginning of 2014. Available only to Crowdcube registered investors, the fund allows investors to easily participate in a diversified portfolio of crowdfunded companies. Investing in early stage companies is risky but diversification can mitigate risk. It is a known fact that diversified portfolios consistently generate a higher rate of return for investors.
The first investment was made in July and was into a company named Enistic Ltd that raised equity on Crowdcube this past summer. According to a report the company raised £341,000 for working capital and claims a number of blue chip customers. Enistic has developed a complete range of cloud-based wireless smart meters which enable businesses to monitor and manage their energy usage from any device with an internet connection.
The next investment was in the host company, Crowdcube as part of the self-crowdfunding round where the platform raised £5 million from Balderton Capital and individual investors.
The third investment was in 1 Rebel, a contract free boutique fitness group that is opening up gyms around London. 1 Rebel ran a successful crowdfunding campaign overfunding on Crowdcube this past August.
Scaramouche & Fandango Ltd. is the 4th investment and is a company that targets men’s skincare and body procuts. Scaramouch and Fandango reportedly already has retail relatinships in over 100 stores across the UK.
“We are delighted with the progress the Fund has made thus far. In the coming months we will be introducing the Fund to new investors.”
The minimum investment into the Fund is currently £2,500. The Fund will seek to take advantage of EIS and SEIS tax reliefs.
