Australia’s Cycliq Returns to Kickstarter With New Cycling Accessory; Surpasses Initial $245,000 Goal in Under Two Hours

Fly12

Just one year since it made its first appearance on Kickstarter, Australia-based Cycliq has hit the crowdfunding giant once again and is seeking to raise funds for its new cycling device, Fly12. The project, which raised its initial $245,000 goal within two hours of its launch, is described as a 1080p HD camera and 400 lumen front light in one compact and smart unit.

CycliqSharing details about the project, Cycliq’s Andrew Hagen and Kingsley Fiegert wrote, “Cycliq is the technological innovator behind Fly6. Successfully funded on Kickstarter in March 2014, Fly6 is a HD camera and light for the rear of your bike; it watches your back so you can enjoy the ride ahead.

“We compiled all of the best bits of Fly6, added a multitude of new technology and infused them to create a device that the cycling community has been long waiting for! We started by brainstorming about what we believed would be the optimum cycling accessory. The goal was simple: we needed a bright light and a full HD camera.

“We worked tirelessly with our new design team; with our ideas and their expertise, a thorough design brief was developed. Using the initial design for Fly12, our fabrication team was able to supply us with a physical working prototype.”

Fly12 offers the following:

  • Fly12 1Up to 10 hours of battery while using device in camera only mode
  • Up to 6 hours with camera and flashing light
  • Up to 2 hours with camera and 400 lumen constant mode
  • Protected with nano technology to withstand any wet weather
  • Records in a constant loop so you don’t need to worry about formatting your device each time you use it

Hagen and Fiegert noted, “Fly12 is made by cyclists for cyclists. It has features and functions that we need. It is not a half solution that only works some of the time! Battery life is a constant consideration when dealing with technology. As cyclists we understand the need for a product with long, reliable battery life, and the ability to withstand even the longest commute. We have worked hard to make all of these needs a reality, and we are happy to announce that Fly12 has got you covered.”

Fly12 4Included in each Fly12 box are a fly12 HD video and light combo unit; micro USB cable; handlebar mounting bracket; quick start guide; 16GB microSD card; garmin mount adapter; standard tripod mount adapter; GoPro mount. Estimated delivery is November 2015 and will be able to ship to over 40 countries.

Since its Kickstarter launch, the Fly12 has raised closed to $400,000. Its campaign is set to close on March 12th.
