Ready to find an alternative to the four small mosques in Moscow, a group of Russian Muslims has launched a Boomstarter initiative to raise 850,000 for a mobile mosque.
Explaining details about the project, the campaign’s organizer Alsou Hafiz shared that the two million Muslims in Moscow are forced to settle for just four current metropolitan mosques. Due to the rhythm of the modern city (i.e. the hectic traffic) and the small capacity, all worshippers are not able to have the time they need for regular prayer.
With a mobile mosque, all Moscow Muslims are able to be in the place of worship without any stress and challenges. Hafiz and his team are planning to purchase a caravan, conduct the proper renovations, buy a car trailer, hire a driver, and launch a website. Hafiz notes that inside the trailer will be equipped with a separate room for ablution, as well as a mini prayer hall.
