With their Kings of Con crowdfunding campaign continuing to remain successful on Indiegogo, Supernatural stars Richard Speight, Jr. and Rob Benedict have unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming new single camera show.
As previously reported, Kings of Con is described as “Broad City meets Party Down” with the honesty of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Louis CK. Both Speight and Benedict will imitate themselves making their ways throughout the con world. Speight will play the role a divorced former actor who’s “love of the game” is fueled by the fame he experiences at the events while Benedict will be a recent divorcee who is returning to the circuit to cover the cots of his failed marriage and stalled career.
The product team shared:
“After months of crafting and writing the story, Rich and Rob–camera in hand–embarked on a convention tour, all while shooting scenes in airport hotels across the the country. Anyone remember Richard and his camera on the karaoke stage in Dallas? Catch him and his camera wandering through the merch room in New Jersey? Now you know why. After all that shooting, editing, and weeks of post production (Richard actually finished the sound mix in his hotel at #VegasCon), Rich and Rob have an airtight 10 minute teaser, aptly titled: Kings of Con.”
Since its launch last month, the project has raised well over its initial $100,000 and is currently sitting at $141,000. In a recent update, Benedict shared:
“We’re a little under half-way to our ultimate full series goal, and still lots of time left for our campaign. So tell your friends! Kings of Con needs more Prince and Princesses…and a few Knights, Dukes and Viscounts while we’re at it!”
