The European Crowdfunding network (ECN) released a Joint Declaration on the Capital Markets Union, together with seven other significative European federations representing capital market players and SMEs including AFME, EBF, Eurochambres, EBAN, EBN, European Issuers and Business Angels Europe and the European Crowdfunding Network.
“Joining forces for the first time with other organizations representing capital market players it’s a crucial step if we want to succeed in supporting the Commission to create a functioning and efficient Capital Markets Union,” commented Oliver Gajda, ECN Chairman.
The signatories of the paper want to speak with one voice to support the European Commission’s initiative on creating a Capital Market Union (CMU), encouraging it to give priority to the following aspects, deemed crucial to deliver growth and jobs in the EU:
- Develop innovative, diverse and resilient capital markets to stimulate growth
- Diversify funding sources by fostering an equity culture in Europe
- Support the development of a healthy pan-European financial ecosystem and better awareness of companies on financing distribution networks across Europe
