Sparkling Flavored Water Clearly Canadian Returns to Fans Through New Indiegogo Initiative

Back in the 1980’s, consumers in North America as well as Scandinavia, parts of Europe and Japan rejoiced as sparkling flavored water, Clearly Canadian, hit the market and became a super popular beverage. The drink’s production ran for 22 years before it came to a screeching halt in 2009, devastating loyal fans.
Now, Clearly Canadian is ready to make a comeback, and is using crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo. The company originally sought to raise $50,000 through its campaign to get production back up and running. Within three days, the project successfully surpassed its initial goal and is now sitting at nearly $63,000 thanks to over 1,200 backers.

According to Beverage Industry, over 30,000 cases have already pre-sold on Clearly Canadian’s website. CEO Robert Khan explained:

“Clearly [Canadian] owes its entire turnaround to our fans and community. Without their support and pre-orders, Clearly Canadian would not be here today. Now that we’ve successfully finished our pre-order campaign, we’re looking for more ways to push Clearly Canadian.”

Khan also revealed that the company’s plan is to return to stores as early as next year:

“Our goal is to scale into 13,000 grocery stores in Canada and the United States in 2016. We’re encouraging fans everywhere to make their voices known and reach out to their local grocers to request they begin carrying Clearly Canadian.”

If Clearly Canadian reaches the 250,000 stretched goal, Indiegogo backers will get to choose a new flavor that will be added to the original line-up.

Rewards for funding Clearly Canadian’s campaign include:

• 1 Case of Clearly Canadian ($30): 12 bottles delivered directly to the backer’s door. Only one flavor per case, choosable at the end of the campaign.
• 2 Cases of Clearly Canadian ($60): Pre-order two cases of sparkling deliciousness. One flavor per case, shipped direct to backer’s door.
• 3 Cases of Clearly Canadian ($90): Receive three cases of Clearly Canadian shipped to backer’s door. One flavor per case, choosable after the campaign.
• 5 Cases of Clearly Canadian ($150): Receive five cases of Clearly Canadian shipped right to backer’s door. One flavors per case, but each case can be different. Flavors choosable at the end of the campaign.
• 10 Cases of Clearly Canadian ($300): Receive ten cases of Clearly Canadian shipped right to backer’s door. One flavors per case, but each case can be different. Flavors choosable at the end of the campaign.
• A Pallet of Clearly Canadian ($1,889): The company will ship an entire pallet of Clearly Canadian. That’s 126 Cases for $14.99 per case. The backers be able to select the flavors and they will have enough Clearly Canadian for that block party they are throwing.

Unfortunately, Clearly Canadian is only shipping to the U.S. and Canada at this time. The company’s crowdfunding campaign is set to close on June 9th.
