Brief: LendingCrowd Seema Paterson Named Director of UK Crowdfunding Association

Seema Paterson, head of corporate affairs at Edinburgh’s peer-to-peer lender LendingCrowd, has been appointed director of UK Crowdfunding Association.

LendingCrowdAccording to DailyRecord, Paterson joined LendingCrowd last December from Tangent Communications Plc, where she was head of corporate development and investor relations. Prior to Tangent, Paterson was a managing director of corporate finance at Collins Stewart Europe Ltd and prior to that was a manager of mergers and acquisitions at Societe Generale.

Sharing her thoughts about the news, Paterson explained:

From my work in corporate finance and the City, I have the expertise to be able to input from the viewpoint of a debt-based platform such as LendingCrowd.

 

“I’m already closely involved with the organization as part of the tax committee and am very happy to roll my sleeves up to raise the profile of the UK Crowdfunding Association and its members in the financial community.”

UKCFThe UK Crowdfunding Association was formed 2013 with the mission to promote the interests of crowdfunding platforms, investors and clients.

LendingCrowd is a peer-to-business loan platform set up last October by Bill Dobbie, co-founder of the dating website Cupid. Since its launch last October, the platform has facilitated over £1.25m of loans to SMEs across the UK and over 750 people have signed up as investors.
