With less than 72 hours until its crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe comes to an end, Powerhouse Wind has exceeded its initial $400,000 goal and secured over $428,000 thanks to nearly 100 backers.
Powerhouse Wind revealed that it has spent the last five years completing research and development to provided alternative energy. It has designed and built a 2kW wind turbine, Thinair 102, to use in on or off grid applications.
The company shared:
“Our turbine is already out there being tested in a number of different locations in the South Island from the French Pass to Clinton. We are gathering valuable information from these sites that we are using to make the Thinair wind turbine the most cost efficient, energy efficient and reliable small wind turbine yet designed. Our market is the world.”
Powerhouse Wind director Bill Currie stated:
“After five years of R&D we’re glad we’re going to be able to move into the next phase of our strategy thanks to the support of our new shareholders. With the support of our crowd, Powerhouse Wind is going to be able to implement its business plan to commercialize the company by bringing on expertise in technical areas as well as sales. We are confident we will get closer to our funding cap in the three days the campaign has to run. We have a strong crowd of people out there who are interested in renewable energy.
