With less than a week until its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube comes to an end, UK job search engine Adzuna has surpassed its initial £1.5 million goal and has secured £1.7 thanks to 450 investors.
Adzuna, which was co-founded by Andrew Hunter and Doug Monroe, has already attracts six million visitors a month, but wants to increase that as part of its mission. Within just a few hours of its launch, the website’s crowdfunding campaign had raised over £659,330 of its goal for 5.89% equity offered.
Hunter previously stated:
“Having already attracted first class institutional investors in previous funding rounds, we want to offer our users and the wider public the opportunity to be part of our journey. Our mission is to match people to better, more fulfilling jobs and keep Britain working and we are passionate about achieving it.”
During a recent interview with Western Morning News, existing Adzuna investor and founder of The Accelerator Group, Robin Klein shared:
“The Adzuna team has achieved a great deal in a short period of time, and we believe the innovations they continue to bring to the market will change the way people search for jobs, globally.”
Luke Lang, co-founder of Crowdcube, noted:
“Enabling people to invest in some of Britain’s brightest young companies, alongside world-renowned venture capital firms and acclaimed angel investors, on Crowdcube is now commonplace and vividly shows how we’ve become an accepted part of venture capital landscape in the UK.
“Venture capital-backed, high-growth businesses, like Adzuna, with seasoned management teams, demonstrable market traction and global ambition are at the vanguard of this transformation, which marks a decisive tipping point as crowdfunding gains critical mass and comes of age.”
Monro, then added:
“We are proud of the world-class team and platform we have built at Adzuna, but we still have a long way to go in job search innovation, mobile apps and internationalization.”
