The SEC Investor Advisory Committee has scheduled its next meeting for July 16th, from 9:30AM to 3:30PM at the SEC headquarters in Washington, DC. These meetings are open to the public but the SEC also live-streams proceedings on their web site.
The SEC IAC was mandated by Dodd-Frank and was established to represent investors interests – both large and retail investors. No agenda was yet available for the meeting but in the past the committee has tackled issues such as Accredited Investor definition, Disclosure issues, General Solicitation (Advertising), crowdfunding and more. The committee liaises with the Office of the Investor Advocate to promote issues that benefit investors. The Office of the Investor Advocate just published its goals for 2016.
