“We believe that consumers are looking for a more intelligent way to communicate with their smartphones. That is why we created Yotaphone 2, the first mobile that rethinks and rebalances our relationship with smartphones.”
According to AndroidHeadines, YotaDevice sent out an email to backers announcing that they have canceled their plans for the North America launch. This is due to the partners, unforeseen production and delivery. They also stated that the delay in the YotaPhone 2 coming to North America would have pushed the delivery date to 2016 (while other regions of the world would have been receiving newer and better hardware). For this, the company felt that it would not be in the best interest of its customers.
The company noted in the Indiegogo updates that they have moved quickly to start preparing for refunds and process shipments of the International YotaPhone 2 (YD201) and to keep things simple, they created a survey for users to select their refund option.
Despite this, the phone will be shipping to other regions starting in mid-August.
