During a recent interview with Bloomberg Business, co-founder of Jide Tech, David Ko, revealed more details about the company:

David Ko“We’re not a traditional company. The other co-founders and I talk about this all the time, and we know that from about 100 people we have on staff now, we believe we’re going to grow to a company of more than 20,000 passionate product managers in October when we ship Remix Minis to all of our backers. In our vision, we need to be a company that builds with our community of users, rather than just build products for you guys. We’re honored, we’re excited and we’re ready to take your feedback and make Remix OS tailored for your computing needs, and to build better products moving forward. We want to build the future of Android PCs with you!”

The company also unveiled info about the Remix Mini and its progress:

“We’ve been through an initial round of development, optimization and testing on our initial testing boards and we’re excited to report that things are progressing nicely. There’s still work to do, but we’re all working hard making sure that come October, you guys will truly be delighted with your Minis, and proud of being a part of the Remix community!

Remix Mini 4“For the initial startup of your Remix Mini, please be sure to have a USB wired/wireless mouse so that you can complete the initial startup process. This is required just for the initial setup. If you prefer to do your computing eventually through a BT mouse and keyboard, your USB wired/wireless mouse will allow you to turn on the Bluetooth function and connect your BT peripherals to your Remix Mini. We imagine that most folks will have a USB mouse laying around, but if not, source one, borrow one, build one even, but just make sure you have one.

“We just received a bunch of development units with the final case design! Previously, just the engineering, PMs and testing teams had the development board, and most of them we’re just the boards themselves without the final case design. Now, the rest of the PR and Marketing teams will get to play with our own Remix Minis in their cases! Things are progressing quite nicely so we wanted to send out some photos for your enjoyment!”
